The amphetamine network in Thailand is very complex. The aim of this research project is to attempt to understand the system, method and network communication in the illegal production, smuggling, trafficking and illegal distribution of amphetamines in Thai society. The data is obtained from the experience of Thai narcotic law enforcement officers using an in-depth interviewing technique. The results reveal a very highly organized crime syndicate, rikontrolling all aspects of amphetamine production, smuggling, trafficking and illegal distribution. The web of crime is so highly organized that it contains numerous cut-off points where tracing a higher chain of command becomes very difficult or near impossible. These cut off points usually involve network representatives acting as middlemen between various levels of the organization. Each member of the organization is richly rewarded by both power and money.
