The purpose of the research aimed to study competency development for lawyer in Thailand. This study was used mix method between quantitative and qualitative research. A questionnaire was used as a tool for collecting data from 398 lawyers in Thailand. Statistic analyzing were multiple correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of this quantitative study found that 1) motivation factor in work achievement, recognition and work progress are related to lawyer competency. 2) support factorin stability, occupation status and relation colleague inoccupation are related to lawyer competency. For qualitative research was used focus group method and participate in this study from 23 law professionals. The results indicate that several organizational should supported and develop lawyer aboutlaw knowledge, international communication and building lawyer’s awareness for continuously self-development in order to effectiveness of lawyer and upper lawyer standard. The results of the research could be used as a guideline for the enhancing competency lawyer underlying the environment competitive in current situation.
