บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการศึกษาแนวคิดและที่มาของกลไกและการตรวจสอบ มาตรฐานทางจริยธรรมอย่างร้ายแรงตามรัฐธรรมนูญ โดยเน้นที่การตรวจสอบจริยธรรม ของผู้ดํารงตําแหน่งทางการเมือง และทําการศึกษาถึงวิวัฒนาการ ข้อบกพร่อง การแก้ไข ปรับปรุงรัฐธรรมนูญของไทย ตั้งแต่รัฐธรรมนูญฯ พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๐ จนถึงปัจจุบัน ตลอดจนศึกษา ถึงองค์กรที่เกี่ยวข้องในกระบวนการตรวจสอบ และการถอดถอนออกจากตําแหน่ง พร้อมทั้ง เปรียบเทียบกลไกและการตรวจสอบของไทยกับประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา สหราชอาณาจักร และสาธารณรัฐเกาหลี แล้วนําเสนอแนวทางในการแก้ไขปรับปรุงกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวข้อง โดยเฉพาะรัฐธรรมนูญ เพื่อให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพและมีความเหมาะสมกับประเทศไทย โดยใช้ วิธีการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพและวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากเอกสาร

This Article aims at studying the Thai mechanisms to verify serious breaches of ethical standards of Thai politicians. The study shall be conducted on the basis of the Thai Constitutions of the year 2540, 2550, and 2560, on such matters as evolution, impediments, and implementation of the standards. It also studies the concept and mechanisms to verify serious breaches of ethical standards of politicians of other countries such as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Korea, in order to compare with those of Thailand, and to bring the good parts of these mechanisms to improve the Thai mechanisms.
