ป่าไม้เป็นทรัพยากรที่มีความสําคัญอย่างมาก อย่างไรก็ตาม เนื่องจากการขยายตัว ของชุมชนและปัญหาการรุกรานป่าไม้ ทําให้ทรัพยากรป่าไม้ดังกล่าวมีจํานวนลดลงอย่างรวดเร็ว และก่อให้เกิดปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมและปัญหามลพิษตามมา สถานการณ์ป่าไม้ในประเทศไทย อยู่ในขั้นวิกฤติ จึงเห็นควรมีมาตรการที่มีประสิทธิภาพเพื่อคุ้มครองทรัพยากรป่าไม้ อย่างไรก็ดี มาตรการทางกฎหมายของประเทศไทยยังคงมีปัญหาในการบังคับใช้ให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด บทความนี้จึงได้ให้ความสําคัญในการกล่าวถึงปัญหาต่าง ๆ และให้ข้อเสนอแนะในแง่มาตรการ ทางกฎหมายเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ปัญหาสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ประเทศไทยกําลังเผชิญอยู่

Forest is one of the most fundamental natural resources on earth. Due to the emerging of the modern state and human invasion, the forest is critical and becoming insufficiency and destroyed. The legal measures to protect the environment must be taken into the consideration. In Thailand, there are several legal measures to protect the environment. However, those environmental laws may not be effective due to certain circumstances. This article discusses issues, challenges and recommendations to the environmental legal measures in Thailand.
