Nowadays, online sale transactions are widespread. Purchasers do not have opportunities to see or touch products. Rather, it is about shopping between people who are far away from each other and can reach each other with just a mouse click instead of going to the store. Consumers are therefore at risk of not knowing the identity and address of the other party, not knowing the right product and price, not receiving products, or receiving a different product advertised. Fraud problems are growing. The crooks hide their identities and do not have intentions to do real businesses and close websites for escape. These cause a great number of disputes, and many consumers are not compensated for their damages. Thus, online sale transaction case division was established in the Civil Court to settle such disputes. The objective of this research is to study and analyze formats, benefits, and disadvantages of online dispute resolution in the Sale Transaction Case Division of the Civil Court in Thailand. The results showed that the Internet system must develop to be comprehensive and stable to solve technological problems. There are also problems with online mediation processes in the principles of independence, impartiality and confidentiality. The statute should be amended to allow only registered merchants to conduct online sales. In addition, there should be online mediation before filing lawsuits. The law should be set to allow international online shopping cases to be filed at this division as well. The provision on the prescription of liability for defect should be amended for online sale.
